The Wesley Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation

A supervised exercise and education program to help improve breathing, strength and quality of life for people with chronic lung disease.

The Wesley Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme

The Wesley Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is an outpatient program for people with chronic lung conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and bronchiectasis. Clinical studies have shown exercise training will improve a persons condition, break the ‘cycle of inactivity’ and prevent hospital re-admissions.

The Wesley Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is suitable for people living at home who are limited by their breathlessness and have a decreased ability to perform normal activities of daily life. To date we have successfully treated many patients, with improvements in exercise and functional capacity, quality of life scores, independence with activities of daily living and comfort of breathing. A referral from a Respiratory Physician or General Practitioner is required. Private health insurance rebates apply.
