Dr Andrew Scott holds daily specialist clinics, for patients with GP and specialist referrals, in thoracic and sleep medicine.

Dr Scott, and the team from the Thoracic and Sleep Group team bring together medical and scientific professionals in providing accurate and rapid respiratory and sleep diagnostic services, specialist consulting services and ongoing management long term.

Our services are committed to improving patient health outcomes, maintaining high success rates with respiratory and sleep therapy, and ensuring rapid access to other specialist services.

Urgent appointments can usually be arranged within 2 weeks.

Breathwise Pulmonary
Rehabilitation

Breathwise, a pulmonary rehabilitation programme based at The Wesley Hospital.

We focus on a multi-disciplinary outpatient programme for patients with chronic lung disease, particularly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Thoracic
Radiology

The thoracic imaging section includes a group of dedicated thoracic radiologists who specialize in all aspects of lung disorders, including: interstitial lung disease, pulmonary infections, primary and secondary thoracic malignancies, mediastinal masses, pleural disease, occupational disorders, emphysema, as well as diseases affecting the large and small airways (such as asthma, bronchiectasis, tracheomalacia).

There are particular things to note when considering whether you’re at risk of jeopardising your lung health.

  • Don’t smoke – it’s the worst thing you can do for your lungs
  • Avoid lung irritants, like certain chemicals, dust & fumes
  • Genetics – certain conditions make you more pre-disposed to respiratory problems
  • Gender – Women are sometimes more at risk dues to their smaller & more sensitive lungs & airways
