Our friends at ABC radio recently called in to have a chat to our lab manager Phil to help their listeners get their sleep cycles back on track following the holidays.

It can be hard to get back into the swing of working life. Phil recommended trying to set yourself up for success, factor in your new wake times (if they are different) when setting your bed time at night. Getting the right amount of sleep is important and that starts with allowing enough time for sleep. Getting off to sleep at a new bed time can also be difficult, so its important to get into good sleep hygiene habits. This may involve dimming the lights an hour or so before bed, avoid any stressful activities late in the day and minimising stimulants such as caffeine.

The team at the Wesley Hospital Sleep Disorders Centre wish you a good nights sleep!
