While we in the sleep clinic think about sleep a lot. Well, all day really. For some of our patients we often worry that they themselves are getting a bit too worried about their sleep. While taking an interest in your sleep and being willing to work with us to improve your sleep is great, stress is not helpful. Sometimes our patients bring in their sleep apps to us, and are really worried about their data. We often field calls from the general public about sleep apps too. So it’s not a stretch to think that for some people, these apps can be detrimental to getting a good night’s sleep.

A recent article in the Guardian discusses this phenomenon, that was first described in 2017.
