Dr Andrew Scott and the team from The Wesley Hospital Sleep Disorders unit recently attended and presented at the annual sleep medicine conference held here in Brisbane.
Dr Scott was invited to present at a full day education course for invited dentists and physicians on mandibular advancement therapy (MAS) and obstructive sleep apnoea. His reputation for setting benchmarks in both assessment, monitoring and long term data on the routine use of this alternative therapy to treat OSA made the session quite popular and rewarding for all those who attended.
Dr Scott also presented this long term efficacy data for MAS and his recent work in the assessment of Cephalometric measurements in elite athletes, which he was also invited to present. Our lab manager and our team also presented their work on the proposed new meaningful respiratory event indices for inclusion in home sleep study reports where the study was subjected to data loss. Overall, the team enjoyed participating with our experienced colleagues from around Australia, in what’s becoming an important medical conference.
