It’s a bird, it’s a plane, its… Super Narcoleptic Girl!

07 Dec It’s a bird, it’s a plane, its… Super Narcoleptic Girl!

Yes you read that correctly, move over Marvel, sit back down DC, Sleep disorders now has a super hero – super narcoleptic girl. Her story takes place as a web series about a low level, narcoleptic superhero with the power to make people dance as she struggles to save the day – while staying awake! The series was created by Sarah Albritton and Catherine Povinelli and aims to raise awareness about narcolepsy.

Keelyn Klein, a superhero with narcolepsy, lives in a world where Supers and Primaries (non-superheroes) are widely accepted yet finds herself on the outskirts of society due to her invisible disability. Keelyn has the power to make people dance (narcolepsy IS NOT her power). Unfortunately, few people seem to understand that narcolepsy isn’t solved by drinking coffee.

Narcolepsy is characterised by the inability to maintain a wakeful state. Something that would understandably be problematic for a superhero!
