It’s World Mental Health Day October 10th!

And this year the message is simple:

“Look after your mental health, Australia”

The Australian website LAYMHA: https://lookafteryourmentalhealthaustralia.org.au/

provides useful information and links to foster Awareness. Belonging. Connection.

Mental ill health is a growing problem in Australia – one that has been made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking after your mental health and wellbeing, and knowing how to support others, has never been more important.

Good mental health is when we can cope with the stressors of our daily lives, participate in loving relationships, contribute to our community, and work towards our goals. Everyone has mental health. And we can all benefit from looking after our own mental health and the mental health of our communities.

If you are living in Queensland and want to get involved in Mental Health Week (8th-16th October), visit QMHW official website: https://www.qldmentalhealthweek.org.au

QMHW encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not, and encourages help seeking behaviours, when needed.

The week also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of mental health in our everyday lives. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

There are multiple ways in which you can participate in Mental Health Week! QMHW provides a number of resources, whether to host an event or just participate in a way that is meaningful to you or your community. There are many ways to make a difference!

Here at TSGQ we would like to draw awareness to the close relationship between sleep and mental health. Living with a mental health problem can affect how well you sleep, and poor sleep can have a negative impact on your mental health.
