07 Dec ASA lobbies the new Australian Government
The Australasian Sleep Association have recently published an update detailing some recent lobbying it has been involved with towards members of the 47th Parliament of Australia (federal government).
In 2019 there was a parliamentary inquiry into Sleep Health Awareness in Australia. There was has not been any response from the federal government to this inquiry.
Sleep Health in Australia remains a significant concern, particularly in light of the pandemic and the impact this has had on our community, particularly healthcare workers. The ASA have put forward a policy proposal for this at risk group.
Additionally, the ASA have continued the push toward an application for MBS for home sleep studies in children and adolescents. One additional activity includes a working group contributing to the Australian Bureau of Statistics survey and accelerator data in the National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey.
